Vancouver Iranian Choir (Vanchoir) invites composers from all around the world to compose “piece for peace”.
Deadline: November 30th 2019
Vanchoir needs new scores for the future concert on 21st September 2020 (The International Day of Peace) in any languages (preferably Farsi) related to the subject of peace.
Every composer can submit one or more pieces as “Piece for Peace”. The Artistic Panel may select ALL of the pieces or SOME of them or NONE of the pieces by each composer for the concert in 2020.
It is important to visit the website of choir at www.vanchoir.com and consider your piece based on our choir ability.
All composers are welcome to submit their works. Vanchoir Panel will carefully review submissions individually and without regard for age, nationality, gender, and aesthetics.
What to submit:
Send the following materials to info@vanchoir.com
1. A pdf score
2. Text of the Poem (and translation if is not in English or Farsi)
3. CV
4. A recording sample of score or midi or link
The Vanchoir announces the selected pieces in December 2019 by the choir website and sending emails to the composers.
All selected pieces will be perfumed and recorded live in next concert on September 21st 2020 (The International Day of Peace) and will be sent to composers as well.

Vancouver Iranian Choir (V.I.C) would like to highly appreciate and thank all composers for sending their fine pieces for the premier call for score.
It is very necessary to mention the high level and quality of all pieces received and certainly the final announced piece(s) it is not evaluated only on musical values and qualities of the pieces rather the juries were obliged to the following evaluation criteria for the 2020 performance for peace.
The evaluation criteria:
1 – The relation of words and music to the main theme “Peace”
2 – All music had to composed exclusively and directly for Vancouver Iranian Choir with piano accompaniment
3 – Considering the level of Vancouver Iranian Choir level of performance abilities
The following piece is selected to be performed by Vancouver Iranian Choir on 2020 International Peace Day and will be recorded on video and audio.

In the end it is worth mentioning that Vancouver Iranian Choir is highly interested to also perform a number of pieces from the same received above pieces on their next future possible concerts (away from the subject of the recall).
For this purpose V.I.C will contact composers to individually for agreements on each selected piece in advance.
